By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Residents in Belama Phase 2 in Belize City are asking for assistance in relocating crocodiles that meander freely in the neighbourhood.

“Asking for assistance in relocating these big boys from the belama phase 2 area just behind galaxy store,” Matthew Bradley posted while tagging the Mayor of Belize City Bernard Wagner.

“They cross the road a few times every day. One of these creatures is extremely large. He is not in the pictures below. The area is busy with pedestrian and vehicular traffic and is very dark at night.”

Bradley is not the first to ask for assistance and will more than likely not be the last since the crocs have been known to live in the area that is bordered by Haulover Creek and is surrounded by swamp land.

But it certainly will give the Belama residents some tranquility if the authorities take care of the ‘crocs’.

“To report wildlife concerns, please contact the Belize Forest Department through their Facebook page or on 828-4936,” Aces Wildlife Rescue advised in a comment.
