Freddy Vasquez denied bail again for burglary

Posted: Monday, February 6, 2023. 10:03 pm CST.

By Aaron Humes: A man described as a “seasoned” thief and burglar was denied bail last week and remains on remand.

Freddy Vasquez has no less than seven active charges before the courts, including four allegations centered around “crimes of dishonesty” – theft, robbery, and burglary.

Vasquez has been on remand since October 2022 when he was accused of burglary and denied bail.

And the court prosecutor convinced the court that if he was let out on bail, there was a high possibility that he would go back to thievery. He added that the case for which he was in court would be tried later this month and if for any reason it wasn’t, then he would not further object to Vasquez being granted bail. With that, the case was adjourned to February 28.

Vasquez’s latest charge dates back to October of 2022, but he was previously charged in 2021 for a string of burglaries in the Ladyville area – two counts of burglary, attempted theft, and theft in a ten-day period between September 14 and 24, 2021.
