By Aaron Humes: It was double trouble for Marvin Stevens, who is serving out a 15-year prison term for manslaughter but had been out on parole – until he was accused of intending to supply cannabis last year.
Stevens will not be released from prison until September 14, 2024, on the manslaughter conviction, but potentially more time could be added if he is found guilty of the drug charge.
Stevens’ drug case was set for case management on February 28 by Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford after disclosure was given to him last week. Stevens was charged jointly with a second person who has not been showing up in court since 2022, so a bench warrant has been issued for the arrest of that second defendant.
