Griga Dream Ballers edge Orange Walk Running Rebels 82-81 in Dangriga in Belize Elite Basketball League

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The crowd was rocking at the Russell ‘Chiste’ Garcia Auditorium in Dangriga all hyped up that the Griga Dream Ballers had just pulled off an 82-81 win over the Orange Walk Running Rebels in their first home game of the Belize Elite Basketball League (BEBL).

The previous week the team had fallen in Belize City, but on home turf they were able to record the W on superb performances by Delvon Henderson, D’von Campbell, and Jarrel Velasquez. Henderson was unstoppable on both ends pulling a whopping 21 points off the glass to go with 14 points. Campbell scored 20 points, made nine assists, and got two rebounds. Velasquez sank 19 points while getting three rebounds and making four steals. Nayib Casimiro added 14 points and three boards.

For the Running Rebels, Brian White hit 16 points to go along with 14 rebounds while Tyrone Hall recorded 12 points, two rebounds, four assists, and three steals.

The Griga side are now 1-1 while Orange Walk have dropped their two games.
