Belize City man enters guilty plea for alleged attack on his ex-girlfriend’s current boyfriend

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Twenty-four-year-old Clint Geban was fined in court this week for attacking his ex-girlfriend’s new lover.

Geban appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, charged with one count of common assault and one count of threatening words upon his 19-year-old ex-girlfriend.

He had reportedly gone to the new boyfriend’s home where his ex was staying and they got into an altercation which led to him attacking while the complainant’s back was turned. He had also reportedly threatened his ex that he would later return with a firearm to shoot her.

Geban pleaded guilty to both offenses and was fined $50 plus $5.00 cost of court for the threatening words charge which he must pay by March 9, 2023, or spend two weeks in jail for default. He was also fined $200 plus $5.00 cost of court for the common assault charge, which he needs to pay by March 31 or face two months in prison for default.
