By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing (MIDH) said it is modifying and implementing the traffic routes in Roaring Creek to accommodate for continued construction works on approach of the new Roaring Creek Bridge on the George Price Highway.

“Motorists traveling eastbound to Belmopan City are to follow the route using the new bridge,” the MIDH said in a press release.

“Motorists traveling westward towards Camalote Village are to use the old Roaring Creek Bridge. The old bridge will be limited to small light vehicles only.

“All heavy vehicles, such as buses, trucks, and containers, will be managed on the new bridge with assistance from site flaggers. A traffic sign stating this information will be placed on both the westbound and eastbound approaches.”

The MIDH advised drivers to follow the traffic warning signs when approaching the works at the bridge site. The MIDH further said that to expedite the progress of the works, the contractor will be working during “normal working hours as well as nighttime”.

The MIDH thanked drivers for their cooperation and reminded them to “stay alert and be safe”.
