Posted: Friday, February 10, 2023. 10:47 am CST.

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The Ministry of Finance, Economic Development, and Investment is officially launching Belize’s Green Climate Fund (GCF) country program for 2022-2026, which prioritizes increasing the country’s climate resilience. The Climate Finance Unit of the Ministry of Economic Development presented a video showcasing ongoing efforts and plans to enhance Belize’s climate adaptation.

Regular updates and consultations will be held to review the progress of the GCF country program. The Climate Finance Unit emphasized that the GCF provides a roadmap for addressing gaps and developing funding programs to address the country’s climate challenges.

This is a joint effort by all Belizeans, non-government organizations, and ministries, and the Climate Finance Unit encouraged everyone to do their part in protecting the environment and preserving natural resources for a sustainable future.

“We must all do better, because our lives and the future depend on it,” the unit emphasized.
