By Aaron Humes: Police say a Toledo man accused in a chopping incident on Christmas Day has apparently been killed.
30-year-old Pablo Coc of San Isidro, Toledo, was found on a ‘picado’ road off the San Antonio Road around 5 a.m. this morning by a police officer and a village alcalde, motionless and lying in a pool of blood. His body sustained chop and stab wounds to the face and body.
Preliminary investigation revealed that at about 4:45 a.m. the deceased and his brother left their home in San Isidro Village en route to wait for a passenger bus by the Highway to go work in Santa Cruz village, Stann Creek District at a construction site. The brother was later located in Santa Cruz.
According to Police, the deceased was previously charged with chopping his brother-in-law, who has reportedly been threatening death in retaliation. Along with the deceased’s brother, he has been detained pending further investigation.
