San Ignacio police cadets conduct clean-up campaign

Posted: Saturday, February 11, 2023. 3:50 pm CST.

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, members of the San Ignacio police cadets participated in a clean-up campaign along the Benque Viejo road in San Ignacio.

The police cadets, led by Community Policing officers PC Reynolds and PC Reid in San Ignacio are actively engaging in community service activities in an effort to instill and encourage good citizenship and civic pride.

The cadet program engages youths in building self-esteem, personal growth, strong character, and practicing good values, hard work, respect, compassion, responsibility, and honesty.

The activities including church attendance, community service, and team-building contribute to building a good ethical foundation for the youths.

Community police officers are specifically assigned to building a good relationship with the community and are dedicated to supporting schools, children, and youths through this program.

“We thank the community policing officers for their commitment and dedication to this program. These are positive activities and our cadets take being a part of the program very seriously and demonstrate these skills to other students, thus also being examples in their own community from a young age. All thanks to the time and effort being placed in the program by our committed officers,” a parent told BBN.
