Taiwan’s ambassador honored with Order of Distinction for outstanding service to Belize

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Taiwan’s Ambassador to Belize, David Kuan-Chou Chien, was recently awarded the Order of Distinction by the Government of Belize for his exceptional service to the country. The conferral was held on February 10, 2023, at the Belize House in Belmopan and was attended by Prime Minister John Briceño and other ministers of the government.

Governor General Dame Froyla Tzalam presided over the ceremony and recognized the significant contributions made by Ambassador Chien to the Belizean community. Since his appointment in 2021, Chien has been a steadfast advocate for the relationship between Taiwan and Belize, supporting numerous projects and programs in the areas of education, health, and technology.

This award is a testament to the strong diplomatic ties between Taiwan and Belize and the positive impact that Ambassador Chien has made during his tenure. The conferral of the Order of Distinction is a significant honor and highlights the dedication and commitment that Ambassador Chien has shown to the people of Belize.
