President of Cuba arrives at Government House for bilateral talks

By Aaron Humes: President of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel, has arrived at the Government House in Belize City for the main part of his state visit to Belize.

The President was received by Governor General Dame Froyla Tzalam; Prime Minister John Briceño; Minister of Foreign Affairs Eamon Courtenay and other Government officials and went into bilateral talks that are expected to culminate in the signing of several agreements.

Thereafter, President Diaz-Canel will address a joint sitting of the National Assembly, and after lunch meet with Cuban nationals living and working in Belize.

The President traveled in his own vehicle from Mexico where he landed on Saturday.
