Benque Viejo United slip past Bandits 3-2 in Premier League of Belize

Benque Viejo United downed the Belmopan Bandits 3-2 in a come-from-behind victory in the Premier League of Belize on Sunday at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium in the Capital.

The Bandits went ahead early on in the 9^th minute off an own goal by Colombian Heider Preciado Landázuri and then made it 2-0 on another goal by Justin Trapp in the 16^th minute.

But Benque rallied back on a strike by veteran Danny Jimenez, who’s been hot of late, in the 35^th and another by Argentine Ayrton Sissa to tie the match in the 55^th. Jimenez then hit the winning goal in the 76^th to complete his brace.

Benque now total seven points, like Verdes, moving up to the fifth spot. The Bandits remain in seventh place with just two points after five games.

This coming weekend, the Bandits take on Altitude on Saturday in Belmopan while Benque United travel to Dangriga to face Wagiya on Sunday.
