By Aaron Humes: Interdicted Police Corporal Elmer Nah’s 2023 started off badly and it’s getting worse.
Not only does he face three charges of murder among others in the triple murder of Jon, David, and Vivian Ramnarace in Maya Mopan, Belmopan, on December 31, but he could face another disciplinary tribunal in relation to being found with Department-issued ammunition while supposedly on vacation and not far from where a drug plane landed. He is also being tried criminally for that incident and is being looked at as a potential suspect in no less than two other murders.
It is all getting to be a bit too much and on Friday he lashed out, accusing the Department of “chancing” him and demanding to know where is the gun he allegedly used among other things.
But his erstwhile boss, Commissioner of Police Chester Williams, will hear none of it.
“I’m not going to comment on what he is saying. We have what we have in terms of evidence and that will be presented to the court and the court will make that determination when the day comes,” is all he briefly said in response today.
Nah returns to court in March in Belize City on the ammunition charges and April on the other charges in Belmopan.
