By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On Sunday, Mexican law enforcement authorities informed that they had detained a suspected top cartel member accused of leading the region’s production of fentanyl, Reuters report.
The suspect was detained on Thursday in Sinaloa, weeks after the recent high-profile capture of cartel leader Ovidio Guzman.
The suspect is reportedly a leading logistics boss for the narco trafficker known as “Mayo Zambada.”
“It should be noted that the accused is considered the main producer of fentanyl and methamphetamine pills, in addition to carrying out the large-scale transfer of cocaine from Central and South America to the U.S,” Mexico’s Defense Ministry noted.
