Special Envoy for the Development of Families and Children meet Taiwan’s President

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, Belize’s Special Envoy for the Development of Families and Children, Rosanna Briceño arrived in Taiwan for the international forum “Empower Women! Empower LAC!”

The Special Envoy was welcomed by Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Lily Li-Wen Hsu and Belize Ambassador in Taiwan, Dr. Candice Pitts.

Briceño met with Taiwan’s President, Dr. Tsai Ing-Wen and reiterated Belize’s appreciation for continued support from Taiwan.

“We were escorted to the Presidential Office for a courtesy call with Her Excellency President of the Republic of China – Taiwan H.E. Dr. Tsai Ing-Wen.

I reiterated Belize’s continued appreciation for our mutually beneficial bilateral relations, and we exchanged mutual admiration and commitment for continued cooperation,” the Special Envoy said.

Briceño then attended a luncheon hosted by Jaushieh Joseph Wu, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The Special Envoy will visit Taiwan from February 14 to 17, 2023.
