Agriculture Minister Jose Mai thanks Taiwan Ambassador David Kuan-Chou Chien who is nearing end of his two-year service in Belize

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Agriculture Minister Jose Abelardo Mai thanked Taiwan Ambassador David Kuan-Chou Chien, who is at the end of his two-year service in Belize, and a ceremony to unveil a monument and plaque in honour of Belize’s bilateral relationship with Taiwan.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise (MAFSE) said the ceremony held on Wednesday morning at the Corozal Free Zone (CFZ) was also in honour of Ambassador Chien who is concluding his two-year tenure in Belize.

Ambassador Chien has worked very closely with the Ministry of Agriculture, particularly through the Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF) Breeding Sheep and Goat Production and Guidance System Enhancement Project which is already in Phase II.

“Minister Mai thanked Ambassador Chien for the warm relationship developed during his tour, and the continued support for Belize in agriculture and other areas,” MAFSE said.

“For his part Ambassador Chien expressed his gratitude for the hospitality and friendship he has enjoyed during his tour.”

MAFSE said Minister Mai and several other members of Cabinet, including Florencio Marin Jr., Kevin Bernard, and Ramon Cervantes and Ramiro Ramirez, as well as Corozal Town Mayor Rigo Vellos, members of the Board of Directors of the CFZ, and invited guests were present.
