By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise (MAFSE) will conduct a Taiwan-funded two-week training program for food vendors.

The Agriculture Ministry said that on Monday that Chief Executive Officer Servulo Baeza received a cheque for approximately $21,000 from the Republic of China (Taiwan) government to fund the project in Agro-Processing. MAFSE said the project total is approximately $39,000.

“The Agro-Processing Unit at Central Farm will conduct workshops in Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) training for food vendors and persons interested in the food industry,” MAFSE said.

“Participants will undergo a two week training program that will enable them to get certificates they can use in the industry to authenticate their food handling status.”

MAFSE said when and where the training will be held will be announced soon.
