By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Special Envoy for the Development of Families and Children, Rosanna Briceño is in Taiwan participating in the international forum “Empower Women! Empower LAC!”
During her address at today’s forum for Challenges and Prospects for Women’s Socio-Economic Development in the post-Epidemic— Public-Private Partnerships and International Collaboration, Briceño urged education as that overarching path to combating pre and post-pandemic challenges.
Briceño noted that leaders must educate to empower, educate to achieve self-sufficiency, educate to end discrimination against gender and disabilities, educate to achieve inclusiveness and fair access to opportunities and support services, and educate to achieve equity in governance, education, health, and economic growth and development.
“We cannot move forward without educating our women and girls and empowering them for full participation in society. And we most certainly cannot meet SDG 5 without women,” Briceño added.
The Special Envoy is visiting Taiwan from February 14 to 17, 2023.
