By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, Prime Minister John Briceño and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Eamon Courtenay met with Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the World Trade Organization – WTO.
Discussions included ratifying fishing convention, investment facilitation agreement and issues in E-Commerce and Service Domestic Regulations.
Iweala urged that Belize becomes active in these negotiations as they represent possibilities for Belize’s economic growth.
The Prime Minister and Foreign Minister are representing Belize at the Forty-Fourth (44th) Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).
