Mirna Rivera to stand trial in April for fatal traffic accident

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Ladyville resident, 27-year-old Mirna Rivera will stand trial in April for the 2022 fatal traffic accident that claimed the life of Joseph Bevans Jr.

Rivera appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Friday to receive her disclosure, which included a 58-page document and a DVD.

Allegations being made against Rivera are that on Saturday, April 30, 2022, whilst on Central American Boulevard, she negligently drove her white Mercury Mariner SUV, knocked down, and killed Beavans.

She was arraigned on October 14, 2022, answering to one count of manslaughter by negligence, one count of causing death by careless conduct, and one count of driving a motor vehicle without due care and attention.
