By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Belize City fisherman charged for cursing out a police officer told the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Friday that he had no recollection of the incident because he was drunk.
Twenty-nine-year-old Aaron Tzul appeared unrepresented in court answering to a single charge of using indecent words.
Allegations against him were that on Thursday, February 16, he told PC Darwin Marin Sr. to go and search for a group of men, but did so using profane language.
Tzul pleaded not guilty to the offense, admitting that his outburst was due to him being drunk; however, the prosecutor said that, after reviewing the facts of the case, the incident did not warrant a charge.
The prosecution withdrew the charge against Tzul and he was free to leave.
