BREAKING: Missing Belize City man found dead on private island

By Aaron Humes: A missing man, Elrick Vairez, 31, was at about 4:30 this evening found on the coast of a private island 8 miles north of Belize City after being reported missing.

According to Police, there was no sign of injury on his body and the cause of death is uncertain at this time.

Vairez, from Belize City, was reported missing on Monday, February 20. He had last been seen on Sunday at about 10:30 a.m.

Elrick Lee Vairez and Douglas Gill, a 32-year-old Belizean fisherman both departed from Conch Shell Bay en route to the private island onboard a boat named “YOUNG LION” on Friday, February 17 at about 3:00 p.m. Police have not explained what happened to Gill or his current whereabouts.

Police investigations continue.
