Enrique Bermudez, charged for gang affiliation, granted $8,000 bail

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Twenty-four-year-old Enrique Bermudez, who was one of several people charged last year for gang affiliation, was granted bail this week.

Bermudez, who had been on remand on a charge of being a member of a gang, since October 2022, was granted bail in the sum of $8,000 plus two sureties, which he is in the process of meeting.

The court imposed several conditions upon him for his bail including a requirement to sign in at a designated police station three times a week, an 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. curfew, and a stipulation that he cannot associate with any known gang member.

Bermudez remains in custody at the Belize Central Prison until he is able to meet all the requirements of his bail to be released.
