Ministry of Education thanks Taiwan Ambassador for support and contributions to education in Belize

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On February 20, 2023, Dr Louis Zabaneh, Minister of State in the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology and Dian Maheia, Chief Executive Officer met with Taiwan’s Ambassador, David Kuan-Chou Chien in Belmopan.

Discussions included building on the strong ties of friendship and cooperation that exists between Belize and Taiwan.

Minister Zabaneh and CEO Maheia thanked Ambassador Chien for his good will and the passion he displayed during his service to Belize, and for his numerous contributions to the advancement of education.

During Ambassador Chien’s tenure, the Ministry secured funding for the National Healthy Start School Feeding Programme, the ConnectED project, and many more initiatives.

“We note that this visit was Ambassador Chein’s last visit during his tenure as Ambassador of to Belize. On behalf of our Ministers, Senior Management Team and our entire #MoECSTFamily, we convey our best wishes to Ambassador Chien as he takes up a new role in Taiwan,” the Ministry said.
