Roaring Creek teenage boy shot dead and fellow injured in shooting incident this afternoon

By Aaron Humes: Police are reporting that a Roaring Creek teenager, Dane Matute, died this afternoon while being treated at the Western Regional Hospital in Belmopan after being shot to death.

Just after 1 this afternoon, police visited a popular swimming area opposite the Guanacaste Park at the entrance to Belmopan. They were informed that a group of young people were gathered at the creek side when they heard three shots from the opposite direction, inside the Park. Two persons were identified as being injured.

Matute and another 15-year-old minor were rushed for treatment and the second minor presently remains hospitalized. Police investigations continue.
