By Aaron Humes: Police earlier this week announced a successful capture of a pair of robbers that allegedly stole thousands in cash from a businessman on Mahogany Street, Belize City, at gunpoint.
ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, Communications Director, Belize Police Department reported that the robbery took place on February 19: “…a 42-year-old businessman was sitting in his vehicle parked on Mahogany Street Extension area and two male persons arrived at his vehicle on bicycle and they demanded that he hand over money and personal properties. Fearing for his life, he handed over to them about two thousand dollars in cash and his iPhone 14.
Police in that area [immediately searched] Mango Street in the Saint Martin’s De Porres area where two minors were present at the time of the search. Police were able to recover a black air pistol that they believe was used in the orchestration of that crime and also they were able to confiscate clothing that resemble what was described by the culprits that committed that robbery.
