    By Benjamin Flowers: Former United Democratic Party (UDP) Mayoral Candidate for Benque Viejo Miguel Guerra is the party’s new standard bearer for Cayo West.

    Guerra went up against Charles Cortez to see who would replace long-standing standard bearer and former UDP Minister Erwin Contreras.

    Reports are that close to 1,160 people turned up for the convention with a total of 1,148 unspoiled votes cast.

    Guerra won a commanding 835 votes, while Cortez only garnered 313.
