Public Accounts Committee to meet on Monday to discuss Auditor General’s reports

By Benjamin Flowers: The Joint Public Accounts Committee (JPAC), a major oversight body within Belize’s parliamentary framework is set to hold a meeting tomorrow, February 27, 2023.

A notice issued from the Office of the Clerk of the National Assembly noted that the meeting was originally planned for Monday, February 20, but was rescheduled.

The meeting will be the 8th held by the JPAC and serves as a continuation to the January 30 meeting which featured interviews of the Auditor General Dorothy Bradley, Financial Secretary Joseph Waight, and Accountant General, Teresita Miranda.

The committee is following up on its review of the general findings of the 2012-2013 Auditor General’s report as well as a minority report of the Public Accounts Committee, which was prepared in 2018.
