Ministry of Youths, Sports and Transport says AC units were for Ministry’s offices

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Transport issued a statement saying that it is aware of a post made on Facebook by a pseudo-media house and commentary on a morning talk show making allegations that a Minister of Government attempted to use public monies to install 25 A/C units at a hotel allegedly owned by the said minister, who was unnamed in the post.

“For the record, there is absolutely no truth to the information contained in the post, nor in what was stated on the said Radio show. Ten A/C units were purchased by the Ministry of Transport to be placed at the ministry’s offices in the south. All A/C units have been installed,” the Ministry noted.

In addition, the ministry said that it intends to pursue every legal avenue to bring action against the owner/operators of the blog, as well as against the radio, “for the clear slander of a government minister, and by extension the entire Government of Belize, without any basis in fact.”
