Verdes’ Desmond Wade to play in the United States for USL2 Team Oly Town

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Verdes’ Desmond Wade is to play in the United States for the United Soccer League 2 team Oly Town at the end of his contract with the Premier League of Belize Subchampions.

“Summer nights around the corner with Belize Forward Desmond Wade! Welcome to Olympia, WA and the Oly Town family!” the USL2 club announced on Instagram that the Belize forward would be joining them.

“Wade has been a scoring machine over the years with Verdes FC in the Premier League of Belize and has a World Cup Qualifier cap for the Belize Men’s National Team against Turks & Caicos.”

Wade indeed got hot towards the end of the Opening Championship scoring key goals for Verdes.

“Super excited for this next chapter in my career. I’ve been working towards this for as long as I can remember,” Wade said in a social media post.

“I just want to thank everyone that has been a part of my journey and that’s helped me in one way or another. I want to thank the club Oly Town Artesians for believing in me and taking a chance on me. Really excited to get to work with you guys. One thing for sure, I will not forget where I came from and will always strive to make my country of Belize proud.

Lastly, I would want to give a special shoutout to Belmopan Player Development Program (BPDP) and Mr. Andy Hunt for assisting me with this. I will forever be grateful to you guys.”

Wade’s contract with Verdes ends in June by the end of the Closing Championship.
