By Breaking Belize News Staff: Three fishermen from Chunox Village, Corozal District, are out on bail after being charged with illegal fishing.

Today, Jorge Tun, Rodell Patt, and Royan Torres appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court, charged with one count of illegal entry to a natural monument and fishing within a natural monument.

They all pleaded not guilty to the charge and were granted bail in the sum of $1,000 each plus one surety each of the same. They are due back in court on April 20.

Allegations are that on February 6, 2023, the trio were found fishing inside a natural monument located at Half Moon Caye.
