George Hyde and 16-year-old minor will stand trial for the murder of Ethan Thompson

By Breaking Belize News Staff: The Belize City Magistrate’s Court has determined that 23-year-old George Hyde and a 16-year-old male minor will stand trial in the High Court of Belize for the murder of 18-year-old Ethan Thompson.

The duo appeared unrepresented today for their preliminary inquiry, where the prosecution presented as many as 10 witness statements, three DVDs, several documents, and one sworn statement from each of the accused.

Having considered the evidence, the magistrate determined that they did have a case to answer for, and set their next court date for April 20.

Thompson was fatally shot in Mahogany Heights while riding his bicycle on November 1, 2021. He had gone to the store for his mother when he was ambushed and killed.
