Police investigating shooting of Brian Perez on Gill Street

By Aaron Humes: Police investigations continue into the death of Brian Perez, 38, technician of Gill Street, Belize City, after he was wounded by shooting after an armed attack Thursday night.

Perez and family members including a minor female aged 14 were unloading items from a vehicle at their residence after 8 p.m. Thursday night when two men armed with a piece of metal suddenly attacked two of the females, including the minor.

Perez was inside the house at the time and came outside to investigate the commotion. He approached the men but one of them confronted and shot him before they fled the scene.

Perez was taken to Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he was operated on but he died in the early hours of Friday morning.
