Taiwan Ambassador and House Speaker discuss Belize-Taiwan friendship

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On March 2, 2023, Taiwan Ambassador to Belize, Lily Li-Wen Hsu met with  Speaker of House of Representatives, Valerie Woods and Eddie Webster and Clarita Pech, Clerk and Deputy Clerk of National Assembly of Belize.

Discussions included the strengthening of bilateral relations between Belize and Taiwan and the common values of democracy, freedom, and human rights.

Ambassador Hsu extended her appreciation for Speaker Woods and all the members of National Assembly for their unwavering support by adopting “Motion to support Taiwan’s participation in international organizations, 2022” in May last year.

“Based on our genuine friendship and the common values, Taiwan will keep standing with Belize to deepen the bilateral relationship and advance the welfare of our two peoples,” the Taiwan Embassy said.
