Belize U-19 Men’s Volleyball Team to face USA, Mexico, Costa Rica in NORCECA Championship in Guatemala

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize U-19 Men’s Volleyball Team will be measuring up against the United States, Mexico, and Costa Rica in Group A in the NORCECA Championship in Guatemala.

The regional championship starts on Monday, March, 13, and runs until Saturday, March 18 in Guatemala City.

Belize opens against the United States on Monday at 2:00 pm.

The second match will post our team against Costa Rica on Tuesday at 4:00 pm.

Belize then faces Mexico on Wednesday at 4:00 pm in the last group game.

Group B consists of Guatemala, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, and Suriname.

They say that when it rains, it pours. According to the Belize Volleyball Association, Belize had not qualified to an ‘underaged’ NORCECA tournament before. This year thing’s changed. Not only did the Under-19 Men’s National Team qualify, the Under-21 Women’s National Team also did so. Their tournament will be in May in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico.

Coupled with that, Belize also qualified to both the Men’s and Women’s Central American and Caribbean Games in Beach Volleyball scheduled for June and July in San Salvador, El Salvador.
