House and contents in Lake I completely destroyed by fire

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Authorities have not yet determined the cause of a house fire in the Lake Independence area of Belize City, that completely destroyed a house and all its contents earlier today.

Around 11:30 a.m. officers responded to a call about a fire on Estela Metzgen Street, where they found a two story house completely engulfed in flames.

The resident, 33-year-old Mark Bruges said that he was alerated by his neighbours shortly after 10:30, that his house was on fire and that he called for help.

Police say that neither the house or its contents were insured and that everything was completely destroyed by fire. The value of the combined loss is still unknown.

Investigations into the fire’s cause are ongoing.
