Belize Defence Force successfully completes junior non-commissioned officer course

By Breaking Belize News Staff: The Belize Defence Force (BDF) has announced the successful completion of its Potential Junior Non-Commissioned Officer (PJNCO) Cadre 01/2023.

The 7-week course was designed to train and evaluate potential officers on various aspects of their duties, including conventional defensive operations, offensive and defensive tactics, map reading, leadership, and command and control.

On January 15, 2023, 62 students reported for training at the Training Company in Price Barracks, eager to prove their maturity, discipline, and motivation.

The course consisted of 4 weeks of garrison training, 14 days of field exercises in the Mountain Pine Ridge area, and a final week of developmental classes and graduation rehearsals.

At the conclusion of the course, Private Co E emerged as the top performer with an overall grade of 91.8, followed by Private Myers D with an overall grade of 89.79.

The top performers were promoted by Brigadier General Asariel Loria, Commander of the Belize Defence Force, at the graduation ceremony on March 3rd.
