Belizeans flock to Peten, Guatemala on National Heroes and Benefactors Holiday

Many were returning from clothes shopping in Melchor de Mencos, Peten and others from Flores, Peten, a popular tourist destination that features a shopping center with outlets such as Payless, Dollar City, and food chains including McDonalds and Pizza Hut.

Several Belizeans told us that shopping in Peten seems like a good option since the exchange rate is $1 BZ to $3.75 Quetzales and the items are much cheaper.
