Verdes rough up Internacional 5-0, take over top spot in Premier League of Belize

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Verdes had a field day at home at the Norman Broaster Stadium in San Ignacio against Internacional, previously Bandits, routing them 5-0 in the opening of the second round of the Premier League of Belize’s (PLB) Closing Championship.

Jesse August converted the opener in the 14’. A little later in the 23’, Uruguayan Nicolás Rocha Gómez increased the lead to 2-0. Rocha hit again in the 66’. Desmond Wade made it 4-0 in the 69’. Alence Ayala sealed the deal at 5-0 in the 79’.

The win catapults Verdes to the top spot in the PLB with 17 points, two more than San Pedro Pirates and Port Layola.
