International News: 4 Americans kidnapped in Mexico were mistaken for Haitian drug dealers

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: U.S. and Mexican authorities continue to search for 4 Americans that were shot at and abducted upon entering Mexico on Friday.

According to Latin Post, the 4 U.S. nationals were kidnapped by mistake since the cartel thought they were Haitian drug dealers and targeted them.

However, officials say that the 4 Americans were in Mexico to buy medicine when they were attacked in Tamaulipas.

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said that the Mexican officials are working to find them.

“The information we have is that they crossed the border to buy medicines in Mexico,” the Mexican President said.

The FBI is offering a $50,000 reward for the return of the 4 Americans and the arrest of those responsible.
