Leader of the Opposition says he stands with the Caneros following cane farmer protest in Belmopan

By Benjamin Flowers: Leader of the Opposition Moses “Shyne” Barrow, says he is standing with the cane farmers as they protest against Belize Sugar Industries.

Barrow took to social media this afternoon to stress that not only is he standing with the caneros, but that the party has a vested interest in cane farmer affairs, as United Democratic Party (UDP) Deputy Party Leader Hugo Patt is a canero.

“The Caneros request for an improved agreement with BSI is not unreasonable,” Barrow said. “The Regional Leader from the North Senator Herrera and Regional Leader for East Melvin Hewlitt and I were proud to support our brother DPL Hugo!”

Barrow attended the cane farmer protest in Belmopan earlier today.
