By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Ministry of Infrastructure Development has been installing culverts in San Jose Succotz in the Cayo District ahead of the rainy season.

“Big things happening in San Jose Succotz, where our MIDH team is installing four sets of 48″ culverts,” the MIDH said in a social media post.

“The work you see here will go a long way in alleviating problems caused by flooding after heavy rains.”

Just like many communities throughout the country, particularly in the West, San Jose Succotz is not exempt from flooding due to the hilly terrain, the Mopan River, and the many creeks in the area.
