By Breaking Belize News Staff: Twenty-six-year-old Jamaal Jones was fined in the Belize City Magistrate’s court this week after pleading guilty to a single count of possession of controlled drugs.
Jones appeared in court on Tuesday, where he was charged in relation to an undetermined amount of crack cocaine found in his possession during a police search.
For his guilty plea, Jones was fined $100 plus $5 cost of court.
Police patrolling the St. Martin’s area of Belize City on March 4 said they saw someone acting suspiciously on Lacroix Boulevard.
The officers stopped and searched the person who was later learned to be Jamaal Jones, who had in his possession crack cocaine in a plastic bag. However, when the officers tried to weigh the drugs at the police station, the amount was so small that the scale did not read it.
