By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Benque Viejo del Carmen Football Committee invites team and club managers and coaches interested in participating in the Benque 1st Division meeting on Thursday, March 9.

The meeting is set for 7:00 pm at Mount Carmel Primary School in Benque Viejo del Carmen.
“We know how important football is in our country, especially in Benque and surrounding areas,” the Benque Viejo Football Committee said in an open letter to club managers and coaches.

“As a Committee, we strive to keep youths positively engaged in Football and continue to give them an opportunity to showcase their talents.”

The Benque Viejo Football Committee said it functions under the auspices of the Football Federation of Belize. For while now, the FFB has recognized the Benque Viejo del Carmen area along with the Midsouth and the cayes as separate areas to their district associations and now talks about ten football districts instead of the original seven which included Belmopan as a separate district independent of the Cayo Football Association.

Apart from Benque Viejo del Carmen, the Benque Viejo Football Committee encompasses San Jose Succotz, Calla Creek, Corozalito, and Arenal.

The Z-Boyz won the last championship over Verdes Jrs in May 2022.
