By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Despite boasting World Champions Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé, Paris Saint-Germain were booted out of the UEFA Champions League Last 16 on Wednesday by Bayern Munich.
Bayern defeated PSG 2-0 advancing to the quarterfinals on a 3-0 aggregate.
Messi and Mbappé will have to wait another year for another shot, but the question is will they still be there. Word has it that at least Messi might leave at the end of the season.
English club Tottenham Hotspur drew 0-0 with AC Milan and qualified 1-0 on aggregate.
On Tuesday, Chelsea beat Borussia Dortmund making it through on a 2-1 aggregate and Portugal’s Benfica routed Belgium’s Brugge 5-1 qualifying on a 7-1 aggregate.
Next week Tuesday, March 14, Porto go for redemption against Inter who won 1-0 at home while Manchester host RB Leipzig. The first game finished 1-1.
On Wednesday, March 15, Napoli will zero in on increasing their 2-0 lead over Eintracht Frankfurt in Naples while Liverpool will attempt to overturn a 5-2 Real Madrid lead at the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid.
