Belize Karate Federation holds first ever Female Kata Competition in Belize City in celebration of Women’s Month

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize Karate Federation (BKF) is holding its Female Kata Competition in celebration of Women’s Month in Belize City.

According to BKF President Herman Pastor, the first ever Female Kata Competition will be held on Saturday, March 11, at the Marion Jones Sporting Complex starting at 9:00 am. Since the national competition is highlighting women in sports, all officials will also be women.

Julie Cruz, who recently won a bronze medal at the Central American Championships, will be competing for the Cayo Shotokan Karate Club (CSKC) Belmopan.

The National Championships feature seven karate dojos namely the Island Shotokan Karate Club, the CSKC Belmopan, the CSKC Spanish Lookout, the Kazoku Shotokan Karate Club, La Inmaculada Martial Arts Club, the Belize City Martial Arts Academy, and the Belize City Training Hall.
