Benny’s Belize Hurricanes in the lead as Belize Elite Basketball League reaches halfway point

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Benny’s Belize Hurricanes are in the lead as Belize Elite Basketball League (BEBL) reaches halfway point this weekend. But it is the slimmest of leads as Belize City Digi Defenders and the Griga Dream Ballers also have a 4-2 win-loss record. The Hurricanes claim first place banking on their +11-point difference. The Defenders’ difference is +6 and Griga’s stands at +4.

The Belmopan Red Taigaz are in fourth place with a 3-2 record.

The Western Ballaz are fifth and the Orange Walk Running Rebels are sixth though both have a 3-3 record. The Ballaz have a +2-point difference while Orange Walk are at -1.

The San Pedro Tiger Sharks find themselves in seventh place with a 1-4 record while the Punta Gorda Panthers languish in the cellar at 1-5.
