By Breaking Belize News Staff: Forty-six-year-old businessman Orlando Michael was charged this week after refusing to give police a blood sample to prove he was not drunk-driving.

On March 7, police approached Michael on Central American Boulevard with the suspicion that he was driving under the influence of alcohol.

When the officer requested that Michael volunteer a sample he refused, prompting the officer to charge him with failure to provide a specimen.

In court, Michael pleaded not guilty and was offered bail in the sum of $300 plus one surety of the same, which he met.

He is due back in court on May 12.
