By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize Under-19 Women’s National Team (U-19 BWNT) on Saturday lost 3-0 to Nicaragua in the seventh-place match in the UNCAF U-19 Women’s Championship in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. The loss means Belize finished in last place in the eight-team competition.
After losing their Group A games, the U-19 BWNT faced Nicaragua, who also finished last in Group B, but conceded three second half goals by Daniela Manzanares (65’) Aneth López (85’), and Elieth Velásquez (87’) to lose 3-0.
This was Belize’s worst loss of the tournament having fallen 2-0 to Honduras, 2-1 to Guatemala, and 1-0 to Panama in group play.

Captain Roshanny Narvaez suffered a knock to the head in a clash with a Nicaragua player and had to be taken to a health facility.
Costa Rica beat Honduras 5-3 in the third-place match.
El Salvador and Panama will play the final at 3:00 pm on Saturday. Guatemala tackle the Dominican Republic at 2:50 pm for fifth place.
