By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams told the media that the police is seeking a suspect following Thursday night’s shootout between the culprits and the police.
Williams says that police were called to a particular resort on the peninsula in Seine Bight.
When they arrived, they saw 2 men standing in front of a beach house.
Officers approached them and they began to fire at the police.
The officers returned fire and the suspects ran along the beach.
Williams says that police began to pursue them and they shot at the officers again prompting the officers to fire back.
There were no injuries during the exchange of gunfire.
Investigations revealed that 4 culprits, 2 armed with firearms and 2 armed with edged tools entered the beach house where some tourists were staying and they were questioning them about the owner of the house and money.
“Nothing was stolen other than a cell phone because while that was happening, that was when the police arrived and so the police may have disrupted them from carrying out what they wanted to do. We are looking for a particular suspect at this time to see if that person would be able to give us some information or lead that could take us in making some arrests in respect of that matter,” Williams noted.
Police are seeking a suspect and are looking to find the vessel that the culprits escaped in.
